Tom Mauro, Area Manager
Tom joined the First Capitol Group in 2001 after a 36 year career with the Cargill companies. He served three years as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps after graduating from Dartmouth College with a B.A. in liberal arts. With Cargill, Tom served as Senior Merchant and Account Manager in the Soybean Processing Division and then as Vice President in Cargills futures brokerage affiliate, Cargill Investor Services. His duties at CIS involved overseeing regional offices and introducing broker relationships as well as a wide range of corporate functions.

He has been a member of the Chicago Board of Trade and the Minneapolis Grain Exchange where he served as Vice Chairman. Tom also served as President of the Chicago Division of the Futures Industry Association and is an arbitrator for the National Futures Association. He is an active leader in several charitable organizations in the Chicago area. His wife, Genie, and he have three children and four grandchildren with a fifth on the way.
